National
Training Award 2006/7
At London's Royal
Lancaster Hotel on 14th December 2006, Pitman Training won a coveted
National Training Award for a project in partnership with Love &
Tate and London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Awards are only given to
exceptional examples of training that make a significant contribution
to individuals, organisations or the community at large.
We work with young
unemployed people, mainly from ethnic minority backgrounds from LBTH.
They are sponsored through a Pitman Training Bronze Award at the
London, EC2 training centre to equip them for careers with City-type
companies. On completion Love & Tate, our recruitment business,
helps finds work placements and employment with a wide range of
employers in central London and Canary Wharf. That year from 96 people
on the programme 94% went on to employment with organisations like
Pearson, BP, Financial Times, Credit Suisse, British Red Cross and
IPCC.
