Pitman
Training Centres are about helping you change in business - equipping
individuals and companies with up-to-the minute practical office and
business skills to achieve your aims. With a track record starting in
1837 when Sir Isaac Pitman seriously started promoting the benefits of
shorthand, Pitman Training has been trusted for generations.
And we have come a long
way since then. Though
shorthand, now especially Teeline, is alive and
well the course library covers a host of
office,
personal development
and
practical IT skills.
Teaching methods too have
developed. Sir Isaac started in the classroom but today we have our
astoundingly good
self-paced flexible style of learning which means
you can literally start today on almost every course we do - and can
fit in your learning part-time or full-time. You can still choose a
tutor-led class for many subjects and of course we now have online
facilities too.

Quality
Training is one of the most important aspects of anyone's life and
career. Two key things are important. That your training it is
totally relevant and suitable for you as an individual. That it is
high quality, practical and enjoyable so that you can put your new
skills into practice straight away. We have two accreditations that
ensure we meet these needs.
Matrix

information, advice and guidance. This ensures that our team is
geared towards ensuring you have all the information you need to
make the right choices in training for your future. Talk to us for
full information on the phone or better still at one of our training
centres or or at your office.

National
Training Award 2006/7
At London's Royal
Lancaster Hotel on 14th December 2006, Pitman Training won a coveted
National Training Award for a project in partnership with Love &
Tate and London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Awards are only given to
exceptional examples of training that make a significant contribution
to individuals, organisations or the community at large.
We work with young
unemployed people, mainly from ethnic minority backgrounds from LBTH.
They are sponsored through a Pitman Training Bronze Award at the
London, EC2 training centre to equip them for careers with City-type
companies. On completion Love & Tate, our recruitment business,
helps finds work placements and employment with a wide range of
employers in central London and Canary Wharf. That year from 96 people
on the programme 94% went on to employment with organisations like
Pearson, BP, Financial Times, Credit Suisse, British Red Cross and
IPCC.
