Take
Control of your Keyboard
If you are not a
touch-typist it is likely you will type at 15 - 20 words a minute. A
competent touch typist would easily achieve over 60 words a minute.
Most people use a keyboard for several hours a day either for database
entries, notes or turning out reports/drafts etc.
Say, you use a keyboard two hours per day. With a very realistic goal
of increasing from 15-20wpm to 30-40wpm, you will save one hour per
day. We work on average 227 days per year so, believe it or not you
will save 32.4 days per year, nearly six and a half weeks!
Clearly if you are a secretary or a PA you should be aiming for
60wpm plus, though!
Good keyboard skills technique and posture also:
- Relieves stress and
work pressure
- Improves efficiency
by getting it accurate first time
- Creates time for
more interesting and important stuff
- Maintains good
health and safety standards
